Despite all the fuck ups, there was a moral backing to justify the invasion and Australian support. cronies and the forces did very little to support regular Afghans once the Taliban were out of power. Then the Taliban go involved with the Saudi plot to fly planes into the WTC, Pentagon, and White House or Capital Building, triggering the U.S. backed rebels, the Taliban, who had effectively taken over as the de facto government of Afghanistan by 2002.
